THE last remaining Midland car dealership which belonged directly to MG Rover is doing record business, with customers flocking from across Britain to buy bargain models.
With prices reduced by up to 40 per cent the garage has sold more than 550 cars in the last nine weeks.
"Cars are leaving here at the rate of more than 60 a week, more than double the level that we were selling at before MG Rover went into administration," said John King, managing director of Phoenix Venture Motors Group, Herald Avenue, Canley, Coventry.
"We have sold to people from all over the UK and there have been days where they have been literally queuing up. Some days it was like being at Harrods at the start of the sale."
They are offering Rover 75 1.8T models originally priced at £16,197 for £8,999.
A Rover 25 1.4 five-door, originally priced at £9,567, is now £5,999, an Si version has dropped from £10,967 to £6,499 while an MG ZR 1.5 three-door originally priced at £9,062 is now £6,499.
Even Britain's best-selling two seater sportscar the MGTF is up for grabs at £11,299 reduced from £16,157 for the 115 bhp version and £12,995 for the 135 bhp version down from £17,907.
The dealership, which is in administration, expects to be able to get a supply of cars for the next two to three months.

EX:
75 1.8 Turbo @ £ 8 999 ( € 13 350
)
25 1.4 @ £ 5 999 ( € 8 897
)
MG ZR 105 @ £ 6 499 ( € 9 640)
MG TF 115 @ £ 11 299 ( € 16 759
)
MG TF 130 @ £ 12 995 ( € 19 275 )
